Restaurant Shiki in Rotterdam in the Netherlands is specializes in traditional Chinese-Japanese cuisine.
To expand our kitchen team, we are looking to hire one (1) Independent Working Cooks (Chef de Partie). Experience with Chinese-Japanese cuisine is not required. We provide an internal onboarding and training program, enabling you to develop your skills in Chinese-Japanese cooking techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently prepare ingredients and carry out mise en place
- Apply basic cooking techniques and prepare dishes according to standardized recipes
- Work with fresh products and contribute to the quality, taste, and presentation of dishes
- Provide professional input into menu composition, menu changes, and preparation methods
- Manage stock and ordering, including checking deliveries and applying FIFO stock rotation
- Provide technical guidance and supervision to kitchen assistants and other support staff
Candidate Profile
- MBO Level 3 working and thinking level (intermediate vocational level), in line with the profile of Independent Working Cook under the Dutch Hospitality CAO
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
- Your Knowledge and Experience: MBO Level 3 working and thinking level - Knowledge of basic cooking techniques - Ability to work independently as well as within a team

Candidates with MBO Level 3 (intermediate vocational level)working and thinking level and knowledge of basic cooking techniques are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience with Chinese-Japanese cuisine is not required, as we provide the necessary training.
What We Offer
- Gross monthly salary between €2,600 and €3,600 (depending on experience and education, in accordance with the Dutch Hospitality CAO)
