PeaceWomen Across the Globe (PWAG) is an internationally active feminist peace organisation based in Bern. We connect women from war- and conflict-affected regions and support them in demanding their rights, helping to shape peace processes and thus creating a more peaceful world. To complement our team in Bern, Switzerland (on-site), we are looking as soon as possible for an Advisor «Network and Advocacy» 80 %.
Your areas of responsibility include:
- Strategic and operational development of the Network: you will support the coordination and further development of PWAG's global network, including organising events (online and in person) as well as identifying and supporting Feminist Peace Initiatives.
- Network strategies and methods: you will conceptualise and implement strategies and methodologies, including learning processes on networks as peacebuilding tools.
- Analysis and advocacy: you will analyse national and international policy developments and support the design, implementation, and monitoring of impactful advocacy strategies at different levels. You will engage political stakeholders, incl. parliament in Switzerland.
- Communication: both for Network and Advocacy, you will support and co-create communications campaigns on relevant channels, including on social media, to strengthen PWAG visibility.
Your profile:
- You hold a university degree or equivalent qualification and have at least two years of relevant experience in network coordination and/or advocacy, ideally within a feminist or peacebuilding context.
- You are a strategic thinker with a proactive and inclusive approach to work. You are well organized, comfortable in taking initiative, and you have the ability to build solid relationships across diverse networks.
- You are passionate about feminist values and PWAG's vision and mission. You follow political developments around the Women, Peace, and Security agenda. You are interested in navigating political processes and how to leverage them for advocacy.
- You can demonstrate engagement in activism, campaigning, or network organising (voluntary experience counts). Social Media expertise is an asset.
- You are fluent in German and English, both written and spoken; additional proficiency in Spanish or French is an asset.
- You bring intercultural competence, teamwork skills and a good sense of humour to your work environment.
- You have a valid working permit for Switzerland.
We offer a stimulating and meaningful position in a motivated team in Bern, flexibility (1-2 days working from home and annual working time) and a salary range of CHF 72,000-82,000 (100 %).
