About the team and the role
The eBay Fashion team in Europe plays a key role in shaping how millions of people buy and sell fashion and luxury products across the marketplace. As part of the EU business, the team leads category strategy, commercial growth, and buyer experience across pre-loved fashion and luxury categories, including clothing, footwear, accessories, luxury watches, jewelry, and handbags.
We are hiring a Fashion Category Lead for France and Italy, based in our Bern office in Switzerland. This role sits at the intersection of seller development, brand, trading, product, and authentication operations. You will define category strategy, drive commercial growth initiatives, develop relationships with leading sellers and brands, and collaborate across teams to improve Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV), conversion, and customer trust.
What you will accomplish
Develop and execute the Fashion & Luxury category strategy for France and Italy, identifying opportunities to drive category growth and performance.
Partner with Business Development teams to shape assortment strategies and support inventory acquisition initiatives.
Build and maintain relationships with strategic sellers, negotiating commercial agreements and supporting long-term growth opportunities.
Use customer insights, sales performance data, and market trends to develop actionable category plans and inform decision-making.
Establish category goals and monitor key performance indicators, using performance analysis to identify opportunities and address challenges.
Conduct competitive analysis to understand market dynamics, uncover growth opportunities, and inform category priorities.
Collaborate with teams across trading, marketing, account management, finance, operations, customer service, product, shipping, and legal functions, while providing input into product requirements to represent local buyer needs within eBay’s Fashion & Luxury roadmap.
What you will bring
Experience leading a fashion or luxury e-commerce category.
Knowledge of and established relationships within the fashion and/or luxury retail, resale, and/or e-commerce industry.
Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and present to senior leaders.
Fluency in English plus French and/or Italian.
Strong commercial and analytical skills, with experience translating data and insights into clear priorities and actions.
A customer-focused approach, balancing commercial objectives with trust and safety considerations.
Ability and willingness to travel regularly, including occasional weekend travel, to support events and seller engagement activities across France and Italy.
