- Mission of the role:
As a Junior Compliance Officer within the Task Force team, you will play an important role in the team’s various programs, ensuring the bank adheres to applicable regulatory and internal standards. Your primary responsibility will be to participate in review of risk and client files, ensuring that financial crime risks are effectively identified, assessed, and mitigated in alignment with FINMA expectations and the Group’s global Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) framework.
Operating in a high-visibility project environment, you will contribute to strengthening the bank’s compliance posture, enhancing audit-readiness, and delivering sustainable compliance outcomes
- Main duties:
- Actively and independently participate in the team’s evolving compliance tasks and remediation activities.
- Assess changes in client risk classifications thorough due diligence reviews on client files in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Follow up on committee decisions with relevant stakeholders, ensuring that required actions are completed and that client data and documentation remain accurate and up to date.
- Accurately record review outcomes in the designated remediation tool, ensuring results are complete, traceable, and audit-ready.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve documentation gaps, clarify risk assessments, and support timely completion of remediation actions.
- Maintain a strong understanding of AML/KYC requirements, internal procedures, and regulatory expectations relevant to client due diligence and ongoing monitoring.
- Training and Support:
- Support private banking staff on AML/KYC procedures, compliance standards, and regulatory updates.
- Act as a SME on queries and issues related to compliance reviews within the WM division.
- Contribute to the onboarding and upskilling of new reviewers.
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other departments, such as WM, Tax, Sanctions, and Operations, to ensure a coordinated approach to compliance.
- Participate in projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing the bank's overall compliance framework.
- Provide structured feedback and guidance to Front Office and other stakeholders on review quality and regulatory expectations.
- Participate in calibration and knowledge-sharing sessions to ensure consistency of review standards across the team.
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Professional certifications such as CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) or ICA Diploma in Anti Money Laundering are preferred.
- Experience in KYC, AML, or compliance within the financial services industry, preferably in private banking.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex regulatory issues to various stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
