Philogen is a Swiss-Italian integrated biotechnology company founded in 1996 and dedicated to developing innovative biopharmaceuticals for the treatment of cancer and inflammatory diseases.
Philochem AG is the discovery R&D center of the Philogen Group and is located in Otelfingen, near Zurich, Switzerland. Promising preclinical candidates developed at Philochem are subsequently manufactured at Philogen’s authorized Good Manufacturing Practice facilities in Siena, Italy. The Company currently sponsors and coordinates prospective Phase I, II, and III clinical trials in Europe and the United States.
We are seeking a highly motivated, collaborative, and well-organized intern to join our Laboratory Management group.
This is a full-time, 100% on-site position based at Philochem’s laboratories in Otelfingen, Switzerland. Due to the hands-on nature of the role, remote work is not possible.
The successful candidate will support the day-to-day organization and maintenance of the laboratory and help ensure that our scientific teams can carry out their research activities efficiently.
This position is suited for a candidate with a background in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related field who is interested in gaining hands-on experience in laboratory operations within an interdisciplinary biotechnology environment.
Depending on the candidate’s interests, there may also be opportunities to support scientists and PhD students in their research projects.
- Work closely with the Laboratory Manager to ensure the efficient organization of laboratory activities.
- Order laboratory supplies and consumables.
- Manage inventory and restock laboratory materials.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair.
- Prepare stock solutions, reagent aliquots, and buffers.
- Organize and coordinate laboratory duties.
- Support the CHO team with cell culture activities.
- Depending on interest, contribute to research projects conducted by scientists and PhD students.
- Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, or apprenticeship qualification in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related field.
- Ideally, initial laboratory experience gained through academic studies, internships, apprenticeships, or previous employment.
- Proficient written and spoken English.
- Knowledge of German would be an advantage.
- Reliable, proactive, and well-organized approach to work.
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to support colleagues.
- Motivation to gain practical experience in laboratory management and biotechnology research.
- Availability to work full-time and fully on-site at our facilities in Otelfingen.
