The Swiss Mobility Panel team (a joint project by the IPEEP, SPUR, IVT-TMP research groups) is looking for a Research Assistant to support its on-going longitudinal survey data collection projects. The project explores public opinion dynamics in Switzerland in relation to environmental, planning and mobility preferences and behavior, changes therein, and linkages to preferences and behavior in other policy realms. To answer these questions, the team relies on an original approach combining survey and geocoded data with survey experiments.
- program surveys in Qualtrics
- create documentation such as questionnaires, codebooks and technical reports
- support the teams with data analysis and reporting to third party stakeholders such as SBB or AMAG
- maintain our custom-made R package and provide support to the research teams
- support panel management tasks such as data cleaning and data storage
Required
- excellent oral and written communication skills in English and German
- programming skills in R
- enrolled in a Bachelor or Master program at a Swiss university
Desirable
- a strong command of R Markdown and Latex
- previous experience with Qualtrics
- willingness and motivation to further develop these skills in R and Qualtrics, e.g. programming, analysis of spatial data, etc.
- strong oral and written communication skills in French and/or Italian
- interest in public opinion research and environmental politics
Assisting the panel survey provides you with the opportunity to learn more about the fields of survey methodology and environmental politics. You will mainly work with the members of the panel survey including the other research assistants. Work times and locations are flexible (Hönggerberg-HIL or Zentrum-IFW), apart from regular team meetings.
