Design and develop electrical wiring interconnection systems for advanced aerospace platforms, ensuring reliable integration, regulatory compliance, and high-performance electrical architectures.

Design and develop Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS), including wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and connector systems

Perform wire gauge calculations, voltage drop analysis, and current carrying capacity assessments
-
Select suitable wiring materials, connectors, terminals, and protective components based on environmental and operational requirements
-
Develop grounding and bonding concepts to ensure electrical safety and EMC compliance
-
Create detailed harness assembly drawings, wire lists, manufacturing documentation, and interconnect diagrams (ICDs)
-
Develop installation procedures and tooling requirements for harness assembly and aircraft integration
-
Ensure proper wire support, strain relief, and protection against vibration, chafing, and environmental influences
-
Coordinate wire routing through aircraft structures while maintaining bend radius requirements and installation clearances
-
Support prototype builds and production installations with hands-on technical guidance

Develop and execute EWIS test plans including continuity, insulation resistance, and functional testing activities

Perform quality inspections, acceptance testing, fault isolation, and troubleshooting of electrical systems

Ensure compliance with aerospace regulations and standards including DO-160, SAE AS50881, MIL-DTL-38999, and FAA requirements

Maintain technical documentation including wiring diagrams, installation manuals, parts lists, work instructions, and maintenance documentation

Collaborate closely with manufacturing, quality, and supplier teams to improve producibility and optimize assembly processes

Support continuous improvement initiatives across design and production environments

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree is considered a plus

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in EWIS design, wire harness development, or aerospace electrical systems
-
Experience with aircraft wiring systems, UAV electrical integration, aerospace manufacturing environments, or Ground Control Systems (GCS) is preferred

Hands-on experience with wire harness assembly, installation, and testing activities

Strong understanding of electrical wiring principles, wire sizing methodologies, and circuit protection concepts

Proficiency with electrical CAD tools for harness development such as Capital Harness, CATIA Electrical Workbench, or similar platforms
-
Experience with connector systems, termination methods, and electrical installation techniques
-
Strong understanding of EMC/EMI principles and wire segregation requirements
-
Familiarity with electrical testing equipment including multimeters, continuity testers, and hipot testing systems
-
Knowledge of wire protection methods such as braiding, conduits, heat shrink solutions, and cable management techniques

Experience with composite aircraft structures and associated EWIS installation challenges

Knowledge of aerospace quality standards including AS9100, ISO 9001, and aerospace regulatory frameworks

Understanding of lightning protection and High Intensity Radiated Fields (HIRF) requirements is considered an advantage
-
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively across multidisciplinary teams

Good English language skills (written and spoken); German is desirable
