About the Role:
The German Primary Teacher plays a key role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning within the primary phase, in a supportive, inclusive, and international school environment. The successful candidate will create a positive and nurturing classroom culture, inspiring curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning in young students while supporting their academic, social, and emotional development through German-language instruction. Responsibilities include planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons across the primary curriculum, differentiating learning to meet a range of abilities and linguistic backgrounds, and monitoring student progress with clear and constructive feedback to both students and parents. The role also involves encouraging independence and creativity, and supporting students in developing confidence in spoken and written German. Working collaboratively within a diverse international community, the teacher will contribute fully to the wider life of the school, including events, trips, assemblies, and extracurricular activities, while upholding safeguarding responsibilities and promoting student wellbeing at all times.
This is a permanent position, at 60%-100%.
Who We Are Looking For:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic educator with proven experience teaching within a primary school environment and a strong track record of planning and delivering engaging lessons across the primary age range. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting students with diverse academic, linguistic, and social needs, alongside the ability to assess, monitor, and effectively support student progress. A recognised teaching qualification suitable for primary education, along with a degree in Education or a related subject and eligibility to teach within an international setting, is essential. You will demonstrate strong knowledge of primary teaching methodologies and child development, excellent classroom management skills, and the ability to motivate and inspire young learners. Strong organisational and communication skills are key, as is the ability to create a warm, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. A commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing, paired with a collaborative approach to working within an international and multicultural team, is fundamental to success in this role.
