Shape the future operating model of a global Life & Health reinsurance leader and help turn strategy into scalable execution. Join us in designing pragmatic, end-to-end operating model solutions that strengthen performance, enable innovation, and accelerate AI reimagination across the business.
About the Role
As our Operating Model Architect, you'll work at the intersection of business strategy, process design, governance, organisation, data, and technology to help define and evolve our target operating model. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape how L&H Re operates across global markets by translating strategic ambitions into practical design choices, clear decision frameworks, and executable transformation outcomes, with AI reimagination as a core lever of change.
Key Responsibilities
-
Design and evolve the target operating model for L&H Re, translating strategic priorities into clear design choices across processes, roles, governance, service delivery, data, and technology, while embedding AI capabilities into future-state operating principles
-
Assess current-state operations to identify pain points, fragmentation, inefficiencies, and execution risks, and convert these insights into actionable operating model improvement opportunities
-
Create end-to-end design coherence by aligning business capabilities, organisational responsibilities, process architecture, governance forums, data needs, and enabling technology into one integrated model that supports an AI-enabled operating model at scale
-
Partner across business and technology with transformation leads, process owners, architects, product teams, and senior stakeholders to shape operating model decisions that are strategically aligned and practically executable
-
Define governance and decision mechanisms that clarify accountabilities, support prioritisation, and create the right balance between standardisation, flexibility, risk management, and local business needs
-
Support transformation delivery by translating target-state designs into roadmaps, implementation implications, design principles, and practical guidance that can be adopted by delivery teams and business stakeholders, including changes required to realise AI-native ways of working
-
Drive continuous improvement of the operating model by challenging complexity, embedding lessons learned, and ensuring designs remain resilient, scalable, and fit for evolving business, regulatory, and AI-enabled needs
About the Team
The Operating Model Transformation team drives the redesign of how L&H Re operates in an AI-enabled future. We combine business transformation, process redesign, data and technology enablement, and change execution to turn strategic ambition into scalable operational reality. The team works across functions and markets to accelerate adoption of AI-powered capabilities and establish new ways of working that improve client outcomes, operational efficiency, and decision quality.
About You
You're a strategic thinker who can translate complex business requirements into simple and pragmatic architectural solutions. You thrive in collaborative environments and excel at communicating technical concepts to diverse audiences. You bring a strong interest in AI reimagination and how it can reshape operating models, decision-making, and ways of working. You enjoy solving complex problems and seeing how your architectural decisions enable business outcomes.
We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
-
5+ years of experience in operating model design, business architecture, transformation, process excellence, or a related discipline, in top management consulting firms, insurance, reinsurance or financial services
-
Strong understanding of target operating model design across core dimensions such as process, organisation, governance, service delivery, data, technology, and performance management, including how embedded AI capabilities influence future operating model choices
-
Demonstrated ability to structure ambiguous problems, assess current-state operating realities, and translate strategic goals into pragmatic, end-to-end design solutions that can be implemented
-
Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex operating model topics clearly to both senior leaders and delivery teams
-
Proven ability to build alignment across functions, challenge constructively, and influence decisions in complex transformation settings without relying solely on formal authority
Additional desirable qualifications:
-
Experience in Life & Health insurance or reinsurance, with a practical understanding of how underwriting, claims, operations, governance, and support functions interact across the value chain
-
Experience designing operating models for digital, data, or AI-enabled transformations, with a clear point of view on how AI-powered workflows affect roles, controls, governance, and ways of working
-
Experience with business capability modelling, service design, process architecture, or organisational design methods that support end-to-end operating model development
-
Familiarity with governance, risk, and regulatory considerations in financial services, and the ability to reflect these in practical operating model choices
-
Professional certification or training in architecture, business analysis, process excellence, change, or transformation frameworks such as BPMN 2.0, Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent
-
Comfort working in fast-evolving transformation environments, with the curiosity and adaptability to refine design approaches as business priorities and technology capabilities develop
