To strengthen our R&D team, we are looking for a Senior Writing Systems Engineer who will play a key role in developing and optimizing next-generation industrial inkjet printing systems for demanding production and application environments.
Your mission
As a senior technical expert, you will own and drive the performance of our writing systems at the heart of our digital printing platforms.
You will work on highly complex multidisciplinary challenges involving printheads, fluidics, motion systems, electronics, software, print applications, and industrial process stability to ensure outstanding image quality, robustness, uptime, and production performance in real customer environments.
The role requires a strong connection between technology development and real industrial application realities, including substrates, inks, workflows, operator usage, and production constraints.
As a senior technical expert, you will own and drive the performance of our writing systems, at the heart of our digital printing platforms.
You will operate at the crossroads of mechanics, electronics, software and fluid physics, ensuring that our machines deliver outstanding print quality, reliability, and industrial performance.

Drive the design and optimization of industrial inkjet writing system architectures.

Define and challenge performance targets related to:

printhead behavior,

jetting stability,

drop placement accuracy,

image quality,
-
fluid delivery,
-
thermal management,
-
and production robustness

Act as technical owner from concept to product launch

Ensure alignment between performance, quality, cost and manufacturability

Translate business needs into robust engineering solutions

Develop physical and empirical models (fluid dynamics, drop formation, thermal behavior)

Design and execute advanced experiments (DOE)
-
Analyze data to improve system behavior and reliability
-
Lead root-cause analysis on complex multi-disciplinary issues

Drive corrective actions across hardware, software and materials
-
Support product issues from development to field operations

Work closely with multidisciplinary teams (software, electronics, mechanics, chemistry, manufacturing)

Communicate complex topics to diverse audiences

Contribute to product roadmaps and technical strategy

Coach and support engineers in problem-solving and innovation

What you bring
-
Degree in Physics, Electronics, Fluidics, Material Science, Print Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
-
8+ years of experience in industrial inkjet, drop-on-demand (DoD), printing, coating, or fluid deposition technologies
-
Strong hands-on experience with industrial inkjet writing systems, printheads, waveform optimization, image quality, fluid behavior, or writing system integration
-
Experience in system-level design, integration, and optimization of multidisciplinary industrial systems

Experience working in industrial production and application environments with strong reliability and uptime constraints
-
Strong analytical and experimental background, including DOE, root-cause analysis, modeling, and data-driven engineering approaches

Strong understanding of complex physical systems (fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, system dynamics)

Experience with experimental setups, data analysis and modeling

Familiarity with tools such as MATLAB, Python or similar
-
Knowledge of inkjet or drop-on-demand systems

Strong system thinking mindset

Ability to lead through influence, not hierarchy

Excellent communication skills, both technical and non-technical
