Group Communications (GC) is responsible for building Roche’s reputation and fostering a clear, authentic understanding of Roche's commitment to healthcare. The Role
As the Global Head of Brand& Digital Experience, you are an enterprise leader within the global Communications Leadership team. You will champion Roche’s brand identity and spearhead our global digital ecosystem to maximise engagement, trust, and business impact.
Your strategic responsibilities will include:
- Enterprise Leadership: Inspire, lead and develop a high-performing global organisation of 40+ digital and brand experts led by five senior people leaders. Foster an inclusive, high-performance culture that values innovation, psychological safety, and continuous growth.
- Global Digital Architecture: Define and execute the future-state Roche Group digital communications strategy, ensuring our corporate website, social media ecosystem, and internal digital channels deliver world-class user experience and engagement.
- AI-Driven Transformation: Serve as architect for the vision, governance, and deployment of AI-enabled communications at Roche, positioning the company at the forefront of digital innovation.
- Data-Driven Influence: Transform internal data and advanced analytics capabilities, embedding predictive insights into the fabric of Roche’s global communication strategies.
- Brand Stewardship: Shape and safeguard the Roche corporate brand strategy, driving cohesive, compelling, and modern creative brand expressions across all global touchpoints.
- Strategic Board-Level Advisory: Act as a trusted partner and strategic advisor to executive stakeholders, translating complex corporate and divisional achievements into high-impact digital narratives.
Who you are
You are a visionary communicator and an authentic, courageous leader with a proven track record of operating successfully at the executive levels in a global, highly regulated matrix organisation. You possess the gravitas to influence executive committees, the strategic acumen to anticipate industry shifts, and a deep passion for people development.
Qualifications& Competencies:
- Executive Experience: 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in corporate digital communications, brand strategy, or digital marketing within a complex, multinational environment (Pharma/Healthcare experience is an asset, but top-tier global corporate experience is required).
- Scale of Leadership: At least 8+ years of experience managing large, multi-layered teams, with a proven track record of developing senior people leaders and fostering diverse, inclusive cultures in global teams.
- Digital& AI Pioneer: Documented success in deploying enterprise-wide digital strategies and leveraging emerging technologies, including deep familiarity with generative AI applications, content automation, and advanced analytics.
- Global Campaign& Infrastructure Leadership: A proven track record of designing and delivering integrated digital campaigns across modern channel ecosystems for a complex, global organisation—with a focus on measurable stakeholder engagement and impact.
- Crisis, Brand& Reputation Acumen: Sophisticated understanding of global brand management, corporate reputation risk, and the intersections between digital media and stakeholder trust.
- Interpersonal Intelligence: Exceptional interpersonal and emotional intelligence; able to build seamless, collaborative partnerships across diverse cultures, geographies, and commercial business units.
- Education: University degree in Communications, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Language: Fluency in English (additional languages are a plus).
