As the Project Leader for cobas ultra, you will act as a cross-functional leader and a member of both the Automation Lifecycle Leadership Team and the corresponding Life Cycle Team (LCT). In this role, you will be fully accountable for building and implementing large-scale cobas ultra integrated solutions, setting clear direction for the global product development strategy from initiation through to the launch decision. You will collaborate closely with the cobas ultra program, corresponding Functional Partners linked to LCTs, and external delivery partners to deliver comprehensive, successful solutions on time, on cost, and on quality.
The Opportunity
- Strategic Direction& Solution Accountability: Set clear direction for the global product development strategy from initiation to launch, taking full accountability for the availability, quality, cost, success, and delivery of pre-defined milestones for cobas ultra modular integrated solutions.
- Cross-Functional& Partner Leadership: Guide, inspire, and mentor multidisciplinary, multisite teams and Squads, encouraging team accountability, high performance, a customer-focused mindset, and continuous learning.
- Stakeholder Alignment& Integration: Translate customer and business needs into priorities for the Project Team (PT), break down silos across networks, and resolve escalated bottlenecks and dependencies to ensure aligned delivery.
- Operational& Risk Management: Overcome operational challenges by proactively addressing risks, mitigating issues, driving alternative courses of action, and aligning development, engineering, and integration activities across internal teams and external delivery partners.
- Financial& Resource Governance: Approve and monitor the budgets, timelines, risk mitigation plans, and resources necessary to deliver defined project objectives within quality and time frameworks.
- Thought Leadership& Collaboration: Partner with other Project Leaders, Lifecycle Networks, and International Business Leaders (IBL)/Lifecycle Leaders (LCL) to address technical, regulatory, and business needs, ensuring cohesion with business-wide strategies.
- Global& Intercultural Engagement: Lead technical discussions regarding architecture, technology solutions, and development plans with internal and external partners, with a specific focus on engaging and building trust with Japanese delivery partners.
Who You Are
- Experienced Project Leader: Bring 6+ years of experience managing complex modular solutions, including software development and product launches, with a proven track record of effective collaboration in global environments.
- Technical& Industry Expert: Possess expertise in systems design, technology stacks, and large-scale modular architectures; familiarity with diagnostics industry practices, lifecycle processes, and global trends is an advantage.
- Interculturally Competent: Demonstrate strong intercultural sensitivity and adaptability, with a specific track record of collaborating with Japanese stakeholders and navigating Japanese business practices and cultural sensitivities.
- Strategic& Collaborative Communicator: Exhibit advanced communication, planning, decision-making, and influencing skills to align stakeholders, manage resources, drive product scope decisions, and establish common objectives and KPIs.
- Resilient& Program-Minded Leader: Display a strong problem-solving mindset and adaptability to overcome technical challenges, while maintaining the willingness to deprioritize your own projects to ensure the holistic success of the overarching program.
