Overview
We are looking for an EHS Manager (m/f/d) who will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure safe and compliant working conditions across the organization. In this role, you will actively support day-to-day operations, conduct analyses, and contribute your expertise to projects and processes. Ideally, you have a technical background in electrical engineering and will take ownership of electrical safety within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Advise managers and employees on Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) matters
- Ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements, internal standards, and customer requirements
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and hazardous situations, and conduct root cause analyses
- Perform hazard identification and risk assessments in collaboration with various SKAN teams; participate in machine risk assessments
- Develop and maintain safety concepts for construction sites, chemicals, work equipment, PPE inventories, and related areas
- Support the selection and evaluation of personal protective equipment (PPE) and work equipment
- Develop EHS policies, procedures, work instructions, departmental safety rules, and EHS reports
- Organize and conduct safety training programs, including toolbox talks, safety days, classroom training, specialized hazard training, and e-learning modules
- Conduct onboarding and safety orientation for new, temporary, and external employees
- Monitor and track employee training compliance and qualification status
- Coordinate recurring inspections and testing of equipment
- Conduct workplace inspections, EHS walkthroughs, and audits
- Define, document, monitor, and, where appropriate, implement EHS corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs)
For candidates with an electrical engineering background:
- Develop and implement an electrical safety program in collaboration with relevant departments, facilitate electrical safety discussions and technical reviews
- Inspect and assess electrical systems, installations, and equipment
Hardskills
- Technical vocational training or degree, preferably in electrical engineering or a related field
- Certification as an Occupational Health & Safety Specialist/Professional, or willingness to obtain such qualification
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Fluent German and good English language skills
