About the Epitope Surface Display Research Associate
We are seeking a motivated Epitope Surface Display Research Associate to join our dynamic research team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in molecular biology and protein engineering, with hands-on experience in epitope surface display technology (e.g., yeast, phage). This role involves designing, developing, and optimizing surface display libraries for the purpose of protein engineering, screening for high-affinity ligands, and developing novel biotherapeutics.
- Design and construct surface display libraries (e.g., phage, yeast) using molecular biology techniques.
- Develop and optimize protocols for the display of proteins on the surface of cells.
- Screen and select high-affinity binders from epitope display libraries using flow cytometry and other relevant techniques.
- Prepare the NGS library and analyze the sequencing data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to apply epitope surface display technology for antibody engineering, protein evolution, and other applications.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data, maintaining detailed records of experiments and outcomes.
- Support scientists with electronic lab notebook registration and maintenance of lab supplies and equipment.
- Prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses.
- Present findings to team members and contribute to scientific discussions within the group.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with surface display technology and protein engineering.
- Familiarity with molecular biology techniques, such as PCR, cloning, and vector construction.
- Experience with flow cytometry for screening and selection from display libraries.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
We offer a competitive salary and benefits package (generous pension fund contributions, flexible working arrangements, including home office options, half-fare travelcard/Halbtax) and support for professional development.
