Ridgeline Discovery, a Versant Ventures Discovery Engine, creates and operates Versant-financed innovative biotech companies in partnership with entrepreneurs, industry, and leading academics across Europe. In recent years, Ridgeline has assembled an international team of >50 highly experienced drug discovery and industry professionals and built and operated multiple new successful companies; these companies have raised significant funds through Series B, IPO and an exit through a trade sale.
You will further strengthen our team by supporting the development of new biotech programs. In this role, you will contribute to the characterization of recombinant proteins (e.g., antibodies, antibody conjugates, and small molecules) by applying state‑of‑the‑art techniques to:
-
Determine affinity and binding kinetics on recombinant proteins
-
Assess interaction specificity
-
Conduct epitope binning experiments
-
Interact with and support the coordination of external providers
-
Support the design, optimization, and characterization protein variants for e.g., extracellular receptor domains, antibodies and, antibody fragments
-
Ensure careful documentation and support the interpretation of experimental results
-
Conribute to the preparation of reports, including IND-related documentation when required
-
Present results in internal meetings and support external presentations as needed
-
Evaluate and help implement new protein interaction assays and technologies

-
At least 3 years of hands-on experience with biosensor instruments such as biolayer interferometry (BLI), surface plasmon resonance (SPR) and/or kinetics exclusion assays (KinExA)
-
Expertise in the characterization of antibodies and other recombinant proteins using techniques such as ELISA, MSD and, FACS
-
Solid understanding of the design and evaluation of interaction studies, with the ability to independently plan and conduct experiments
-
Experience in protein engineering, with an understanding of hit-to-lead discovery processes in drug discovery
-
Good command of English, both written and spoken
