Client Lifecycle Management is a key first line of defense within a business line from a service and risk management perspective.
As Team Head, Emerging Markets Documentation, you will be responsible for overseeing client documentation activities across the client lifecycle for Private Banking clients within the Emerging Markets business, covering LATAM, GSAA and Middle East regions. You will work closely with Front Office, Compliance, Legal, AFC and Operations teams to ensure consistent documentation standards, regulatory compliance and efficient client onboarding and maintenance processes.
Responsibilities
Oversee end-to-end onboarding and documentation activities for new clients and support periodic and event-driven reviews of existing relationships, ensuring timely and high-quality execution across Emerging Markets coverage.
Provide strategic guidance and ensure consistency of documentation standards, controls and operating practices across LATAM, GSAA and Middle East coverage.
Act as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor for Front Office and control functions, providing guidance on documentation requirements, account opening standards, onboarding processes, KYC/AML regulations and complex documentation matters.
Review, assess and approve client documentation, including FATCA and CRS documentation, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Perform due diligence and documentation reviews for individuals, legal entities and complex client structures, including regulatory screening and escalation of documentation-related risks where appropriate.
Perform account opening activation and codification of client documentation and account maintenance activities within Avaloq.
Act as a key point of contact for Front Office, Documentation, Compliance, AFC, Legal and Operations teams throughout the onboarding and documentation lifecycle.
Support regulatory reporting, audit requests, remediation initiatives and other business-driven projects while maintaining a strong control environment.
Skills
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline; Master’s degree is an advantage.
8-10+ years of experience within Client Documentation, Client Lifecycle Management or Client Onboarding functions in an International Private Bank.
Strong expertise in Swiss Private Banking documentation requirements, including CDB, CRS and FATCA. Experience supporting Emerging Markets clients, particularly Middle Eastern clients, is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to lead, influence and coordinate stakeholders across multiple locations and business areas within an international Private Banking environment.
Fluent English required; Arabic language skills are a strong asset.
Strong knowledge of Avaloq and Swiss Private Banking documentation processes.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across Front Office, Compliance, AFC, Legal and Operations functions.
